About Junior High School
Junior High School (JHS), composed of Grades 7 to 10, serves as the bridge between elementary school and Senior High School (SHS), providing a more advanced curriculum and preparing students for SHS. JHS students take core subjects such as Math, Science, English, Filipino, and Araling Panlipunan, as well as other specialized subjects such as Technology and Livelihood Education (TLE), Music, Arts, Physical Education, and Health (MAPEH), and Christian Living Education (CLE).
Bloomfield Academy Junior High School Curriculum
The Junior High School curriculum at Bloomfield Academy includes subjects like Filipino, English, Science, Mathematics, Araling Panlipunan, Christian Living Education, Music, Arts, Physical Education, Health, and Technology and Livelihood Education (TLE).
The English subject in Junior High School covers Philippine Literature in Grade 7, Afro-Asian Literature in Grade 8, Anglo-American Literature in Grade 9, and World Literature in Grade 10. Filipino subject covers Pampanitikang Rehiyunal in Grade 7, Pampanitikang Pambansa in Grade 8, Saling-akdang Asyano in Grade 9, and Saling-akdang Pandaigdig in Grade 10.
In Mathematics, students will learn about numbers and number sense, measurement, patterns, algebra, geometry, statistics, and probability. The Science subject follows a spiral progression approach where students learn earth science, biology, chemistry, and physics concepts as early as Grade 7.
Araling Panlipunan, on the other hand, covers Araling Asyano in Grade 7, Kasaysayan ng Daigdig in Grade 8, Ekonomiks in Grade 9, and Mga Kontemporaryong Isyu in Grade 10. Music and Arts subjects focus on the cultural richness of different provinces in the Philippines in Grade 7, salient features of Asian music and arts in Grade 8, salient features of Western music and arts from different historical periods in Grade 9, and contemporary music and arts in Grade 10.
Physical Education covers endurance and muscle-and-bone-strengthening activities, individual and dual sports, team sports, sports officiating, and folk/indigenous, ethnic, traditional/festival dances. It also includes lifestyle and weight management, active recreation, social and ballroom dances, and contemporary dances.
Technology and Livelihood Education (TLE) subjects focus on developing technical skills and knowledge to prepare students for various career paths.
In Grade 7, students will have the opportunity to explore various innovative and unique specializations in the Career Laboratory for STEM. The lab provides exposure to exciting areas of study such as pneumatics, forensics, video production, game development, and more. This exposure allows students to gain a deeper understanding of these fields and develop an interest in potential career paths.
The Grade 9, Information and Communications Technology (ICT) subject includes a hands-on activity aimed at providing students with practical experience in assembling and disassembling computer components. Students are given tools and an instructional manual to guide them through the process of assembling and disassembling computer components such as the motherboard, power supply unit, CPU, RAM, and storage devices. The goal of the activity is to deepen students’ understanding of how a computer functions and how its components interact. This practical experience equips students with valuable skills that are highly sought after in today’s job market and prepares them for potential careers in ICT.
The Grade 10, ICT subject includes a hands-on activity that gives students practical experience in cabling. The activity focuses on creating straight-through and cross-over cables, providing students with tools, equipment, and an instructional manual to guide them through the process. The experience gained from this activity allows students to understand how network cables are constructed and how they function, preparing them for potential careers in ICT.

Grade 10 Science Laboratory Activity
The Grade 10 Science Laboratory Activity on Gas Laws at Bloomfield Academy provided an excellent opportunity for students to engage in experiential learning. Through a series of hands-on activities, students were able to observe the behavior of gases under different conditions and understand the relationships between pressure, volume, and temperature. Working in groups, students used a variety of materials to change one variable at a time while keeping the others constant, recording their observations and taking photos or videos. The activity allowed students to articulate the mathematical relationships between pressure, volume, and temperature, reinforcing the concepts covered in class and highlighting the practical applications of gas laws. Overall, the activity was a success, and it is a great example of how experiential learning can enhance students’ understanding of scientific concepts.
Grade 10 ICT Cabling (Straight-through and Cross-over) Hands-On Activity
The ICT Grade 10 Cabling (Straight-through and Cross-over) Hands-On activity offered an excellent opportunity for students to gain practical experience in cabling. Through the creation of straight-through and cross-over cables, students deepened their understanding of network cable construction and function. The activity provided students with essential tools and equipment, such as RJ-45 connectors and crimping tools, along with step-by-step guidance in an instructional manual. Students gained valuable hands-on experience that equipped them with practical skills that were highly sought after in today’s job market. Additionally, this activity was a vital part of the ICT curriculum, preparing students for potential careers in ICT. Grade 9 ICT Assembling and Disassembling Hands-On Activity
Grade 9 students gained practical experience in assembling and disassembling computer components through our ICT hands-on activity. They were provided with tools and an instructional manual and worked through assembling and disassembling computer parts such as the motherboard, CPU, RAM, and storage devices. This activity gave them a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience and a deeper understanding of how computers work. It also equipped them with practical skills applicable to real-world scenarios and potential careers in ICT.
Grade 8 Araling Panlipunan Gallery WalkThe Gallery Walk Activity in Araling Panlipunan 8 was an unforgettable experience for the students who participated in it. This annual event showcased the students’ abilities in various areas such as collaboration, effective communication, analytical skills, and technology literacy. During the task, students had the opportunity to present their works, which included drawing and giving localized examples of different inventions during the industrial revolution, as well as explaining the connection of Enlightenment to the French Revolution and showcasing inventions from that period that are still in use today. This experiential learning opportunity was both fun and educational for the students.
Grade 7 Science Laboratory ActivityIn this Grade 7 Science Laboratory Activity on Microscopy, students gained practical experience in using the compound microscope to study plant and animal cells. They were tasked with drawing and identifying the specimens using the ocular and objective lenses to determine magnification. Through this hands-on activity, students demonstrated their understanding of the microscope’s parts and functions and employed appropriate techniques to gather data about small objects. This activity was an exciting and informative opportunity for students to deepen their knowledge of biology and develop practical skills
Grade 7 Physical EducationGrade 7 students had the opportunity to showcase their skills in folk dancing. The boys performed Maglalatik, while the girls performed Bulaklakan. The objective of the activity was to ensure that the students executed the proper skills required in the dance. The girls even had an additional task of making their arched garland of leaves and flowers. The activity showcased the students’ dancing abilities, creativity and resourcefulness in creating props. The performance task was a great way for Grade 7 students to learn about Filipino culture and traditions while having fun.Grade 8 MusicGrade 8 students had fun performing during The Sweet Sweet Korean Pop Dance Music activity. As part of their East Asian Music lesson, students had the opportunity to showcase their understanding of salient features of Asian music and arts through appreciation, analysis, and performance. The activity allowed the students to showcase their skills in dancing and their appreciation for Asian culture. The performance task was a great opportunity for students to learn about East Asian Music and culture through experiential learning.
