• About Preschool And Its Curriculum

Our preschool program is designed to provide a holistic and developmentally appropriate learning experience for children aged 4 to 6 years old. We follow the Preschool Curriculum Framework (KCF) which is aligned with the K to 12 Philippine Basic Education Curriculum Framework and the National Early Learning Framework (NELF).

Our curriculum is based on constructivism, integrative, thematic, collaborative, inquiry-based, and reflective teaching in play-based approaches with an application of the Developmentally Appropriate Practices (DAP). We prioritize child growth and development, and the learning program development and assessment to ensure that each child reaches their full potential.

Our preschool curriculum includes the following developmental domains: Cognitive Development which covers Language, Literacy, Mathematical Skills, Science, Filipino, Music, and Arts; Emotional Development which focuses on Empathy, Understanding of Feelings, Self-control Behaviors, and Values Education; Physical Development which includes Motor Skills and Fine Motor Skills; and Social Development which covers Sharing, Collaboration, Cooperation, and Communication Skills.

Through our preschool program, we aim to help children develop their cognitive, emotional, physical, and social skills while fostering their love for learning and preparing them for a successful transition to elementary education.

TRICK OR TREAT CELEBRATION. Bloomfield Academy’s Trick and Treat celebration is a highly anticipated event among our preschool students. During this event, our students dress up as their favorite characters from movies, comics, mangas, video games, or books. They display their creativity and enthusiasm through their beautifully crafted costumes and fully embody the persona of the character they’re portraying. The atmosphere is filled with excitement and joy as the children interact with each other, play games, and exchange treats. Our students thoroughly enjoyed the day, creating lasting memories and strengthening their sense of community and camaraderie. It was truly a delightful and unforgettable experience for everyone involved.

TEACHER’S DAY CELEBRATION. Our preschool students’ talent in dancing was showcased during the Teacher’s Day celebration, as they presented a heartwarming performance as a tribute to all the teachers. Their lively and adorable moves brought smiles and laughter to everyone in attendance, making the event even more enjoyable. The students’ dedication and hard work in preparing for the performance were evident, and their passion for dancing was truly commendable. Their performance was a testament to the school’s commitment to nurturing young talents and fostering a supportive learning community.

FRIDAY ART DAY. Fridays are always a special day at our preschool, as it’s our designated Arts Day! Our young artists eagerly look forward to this weekly activity, where they get to showcase their wonderful creations to their teachers, parents, and friends. At our school, we strongly believe in integrating arts and crafts into our curriculum, especially in subjects like Reading and Phonics, Science, Math, and Filipino. Research has shown that incorporating art and craft activities into lessons can greatly benefit a child’s development. It helps to improve their fine motor skills, as they strengthen their muscles and gain greater control over their hands and fingers. It also encourages creativity and imagination, which are essential skills for a child’s cognitive development. Additionally, art activities aid in language development, as children use words to describe their work, discuss their creations, and express their feelings about their artwork.

EDUCATIONAL PLAY. Part of the learning block time in the preschool department is Playtime. It is one of the highlights of the day as this is the time when they get along and socialize with their other peers. Part of their play involves, pretend play with the use of the toys in the classroom, and social play wherein they stay in a place and chat with each other there is also physical play (tag game, etc.) but they are more fond of playing the blocks with their friends.
Play plays a vital role in honing a child’s development, they are learning to solve problems, understand spatial relationships, coordinate movements, and negotiate with others. This also give them opportunities to learn how to share, take turns, and self-regulate.

Celebrating the enthusiasm of these preschoolers in showing their discipline and perseverance as they execute their written tasks. They were trained to work independently in every task as early as a young age to foster self-reliance and confidence in completing tasks.
These written activities serve as one of the tools in formative assessment to test the learning outcome. It can also identify the weakness of the students and this helps also to develop their comprehension skills as they follow and execute the directions of each task.

Our dear preschoolers have shown great interest in reading a loud story. In line with the curriculum, the integration of storytelling is part of the activities of the kids especially in reading. Students have shown engagement, active participation and great listening skills as they listen to the story. They even connect ideas and experiences to the stories they have listened to. Incorporating storytelling into the lessons is a great tool for teaching Language and Reading. This helps the children express their thoughts and feelings. It increases verbal proficiency and fosters imagination and creativity. They’re not just learning but this provides enjoyment to the kids as well!

Hooray! to our dear kindergartens as they show us how to take care of our 5 senses.
Learning about their senses helps young children make connections between themselves and the world around them. Having this activity helps the children master the concept and value the importance of their senses. Along with this activity, the kids did various activities like having discussions, and hands-on activities which were enjoyed by the children.

These children have shown how engaged they are in every task given to them. It is not only teaching the concepts to the learners but the most important part is that they should apply their learnings in their day-to-day activities. Applying and performing the lessons they’ve learned is also essential to improve and measure their language development.
Teaching language subjects is vital for kids because it allows the children to understand and express themselves better.
