TRICK OR TREAT CELEBRATION. Bloomfield Academy’s Trick and Treat celebration is a highly anticipated event among our preschool students. During this event, our students dress up as their favorite characters from movies, comics, mangas, video games, or books. They display their creativity and enthusiasm through their beautifully crafted costumes and fully embody the persona of the character they’re portraying. The atmosphere is filled with excitement and joy as the children interact with each other, play games, and exchange treats. Our students thoroughly enjoyed the day, creating lasting memories and strengthening their sense of community and camaraderie. It was truly a delightful and unforgettable experience for everyone involved.

TEACHER’S DAY CELEBRATION. Our preschool students’ talent in dancing was showcased during the Teacher’s Day celebration, as they presented a heartwarming performance as a tribute to all the teachers. Their lively and adorable moves brought smiles and laughter to everyone in attendance, making the event even more enjoyable. The students’ dedication and hard work in preparing for the performance were evident, and their passion for dancing was truly commendable. Their performance was a testament to the school’s commitment to nurturing young talents and fostering a supportive learning community.

FRIDAY ART DAY. Fridays are always a special day at our preschool, as it’s our designated Arts Day! Our young artists eagerly look forward to this weekly activity, where they get to showcase their wonderful creations to their teachers, parents, and friends. At our school, we strongly believe in integrating arts and crafts into our curriculum, especially in subjects like Reading and Phonics, Science, Math, and Filipino.
Research has shown that incorporating art and craft activities into lessons can greatly benefit a child’s development. It helps to improve their fine motor skills, as they strengthen their muscles and gain greater control over their hands and fingers. It also encourages creativity and imagination, which are essential skills for a child’s cognitive development. Additionally, art activities aid in language development, as children use words to describe their work, discuss their creations, and express their feelings about their artwork.

Here are some examples of the finished artwork of our dear preschoolers.

READING

Our preschoolers are enthusiastic about reading and enjoy participating in story time activities. As part of our curriculum, storytelling is integrated into various activities, particularly in reading. During these sessions, the students are engaged and actively participate, demonstrating their excellent listening skills as they follow along with the story.

Storytelling is an effective tool for teaching language and reading, as it encourages children to express their thoughts and feelings. It improves their verbal proficiency and fosters imagination and creativity. Additionally, as the children connect ideas and experiences to the stories, it further enhances their comprehension skills. Our students not only learn, but also derive great enjoyment from these activities.

Our dear kindergartens also demonstrated how to take care of our five senses.
This activity is important in helping young children understand the connection between themselves and the world around them. Through discussions and hands-on activities, the children were able to master the concept and appreciate the value of their senses. As they engaged in various activities, they were able to explore and discover more about their senses, making the learning experience enjoyable and memorable for them.

These young learners have consistently demonstrated their active participation and eagerness to apply their learning in their daily activities. It is not just about teaching concepts, but also about equipping them with the necessary skills to effectively communicate and express themselves in various situations. Through language subjects, children develop their ability to comprehend, articulate, and critically analyze information. The integration of language lessons in different subjects not only reinforces the importance of language development but also fosters interdisciplinary learning, which enables children to make connections between different areas of knowledge.

At Bloomfield Academy, we recognize the importance of providing young learners with a strong foundation in language subjects and critical thinking. Through our curriculum and teaching methods, we aim to foster a love for learning and encourage students to think critically, express themselves effectively, and develop important skills that will support their academic and personal growth. By providing a supportive and engaging learning environment, we help our students build a strong foundation that will serve them well at the early stage of their academic journey and beyond.

GRADE 1: ENGLISH ACTIVITY

The characteristics are the heart of a book, and good characterization is essential to make them real to the reader. Reading a book and having a hard time
connecting with any of the characters make them reader lose interest in the story.

The Grade 1 pupils love to read books in the library and e-books in Prime English Literacy Proficiency. They also love to watch the movies and video clips, so they have favorite characters.

This time, let us see some of their best-loved characters.

Grade 10 Science Laboratory Activity

Gas Laws

Content Standard: How gases behave based on the motion and relative distances between gas particles. A series of activities was conducted in the Chemistry laboratory of Bloomfield Academy.

The objective of the activity was to observe the behavior of gases under different conditions and to understand the relationships between the pressure, volume, and temperature of gases. The activity began with the students working in groups of eight. Each group was provided with a set of materials, including a syringe, a thermometer, a beaker, an alcohol lamp, a balloon, a tripod, ice, and an igniter. The students were instructed to record the initial volume, pressure, and temperature of the gas in the container. Next, the students were asked to change one of the variables while keeping the other variables constant. For example, they could increase the temperature of the gas by heating it with an alcohol lamp or they could decrease the volume of the gas by using the gas syringe to push the plunger in. They were instructed to record the new values of the variables after each change and even take photos/videos for them to record actual things that happened. As the students made changes to the variables, they observed the behavior of the gas and discussed their observations with their group members. They noticed that increasing the temperature of the gas caused the pressure to increase as well while decreasing the volume of the gas caused the pressure to increase as well. These observations were consistent with the gas laws they had learned in class. After each group had completed the activity, the class reconvened for a discussion of the results. The teacher asked the students to share their observations and discuss the relationships between the variables. The students were able to explain how the gas laws applied to their observations and were able to articulate the mathematical relationships between pressure, volume, and temperature. Overall, the gas laws activity was a success. The students were engaged and actively participated in the activity. They were able to observe the behavior of gases under different conditions and understand the relationships between pressure, volume, and temperature. This activity was an effective way to reinforce the concepts covered in class and help students understand the practical applications of gas laws.
